Excellence Oyster Bay Falmouth, Jamaica

My husband and I visited Excellence Punta Cana in 2012… at that time we were told they would be opening up a resort in Jamaica so over the last 6 years I would check their site from time to time to see if I could find any updates. Finally, we see the resort will open June 1st. This would be my 3rd time and my husband’s 1st time in Jamaica… Needless to say, we didn’t waste any time booking it for our anniversary…

The Review: First Impressions are everything… we took a shuttle to the resort which also transported guests to other resorts but we were the first stop. The driveway up to the resort is about 3 MILES long (NO JOKE). It is full of beautiful, lush and tropical plants. The bellmen greeted us with a glass of champagne and cool towels infused with lemongrass. (Everyone on the bus was like “who are these people??? What resort is this!!!)

We were then greeted by Kevon -the singing front desk agent. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite with Private pool and it was IMPECCABLE!!! We could also see the resort pool as well as the Ocean from our room #5003… The entire stay we encountered so many smiles and happy faces, everyone went above and beyond the entire time, we were there to make sure we felt welcome and appreciated.

Shout out to both of the Christopher’s (the bellman and bartender a.k.a. Ding-Ding) The young man who gave us the catamaran ride was such a special soul…I would like to shout out Nadia with Tourwise who set up the Bob Marley Tour for us… Morris our driver… Captain Crazy @ Bob Marley’s house was hilarious!!! Finally, I met the assistant manager, Lidonel Llerena was very sweet as well!!! I am so sorry I know I missed a lot of names please forgive me!!! I was so overjoyed with a feeling of gratitude I cried the day we left!!! It was truly paradise.

Here’s a Secret: I am a TRAVEL AGENT!!! I never told a soul the ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE!!! The employees were 1000% genuine. They didn’t treat me special because they didn’t know!!! It has only been a week but I cannot wait to go back and take others with me.

My only regret was that I didn’t take pics with these people so you would know who I was talking about… To the Excellence Oyster Bay TEAM— I love all of you and WE CANNOT WAIT to see you again!

Here are some videos I posted as well:

Unlike most scholarships, the L.A.C.E project is more like a family. Even after I received the scholarship they have continued to keep in touch with me. They’ve helped me step out of my comfort zone by inviting me to social events. Attending these events have helped me gain the confidence I needed to pursue the goals I set for myself that I would otherwise not have the drive to do so. They ensured that I stayed on track with my career as a full-time student while working part-time. The L.A.C.E project has guided me, uplifted me, and sent me on a journey for greatness. – Malynta Anthony

My name is Silver Koen and I met Arkeisha Cox in 2016, through a mutual friend. And we instantly clicked like we had been friends forever! It was refreshing to meet a young black professional woman like myself that had similar morals & goals. So we often met for lunch & dinner conversing about life and our goals to uplift young black women and even start businesses. I am so grateful to have such an amazing friend that you can not only laugh, cry with but also inspire you to do better in life. Thank you Arkeisha Cox & I look forward to many more years of friendship and possible business partners. – Silver Koen

Mrs.Cox has been a great inspiration & motivator to me. She has showed me that as a black woman, you can be successful. I don’t have to be the product of a stereotype, I can be more. The L.A.C.E Project has allowed me to be introduced to many independent & successful black businesswomen. I have learned so much from Mrs. Cox and she has always supported me in everything I do. I am a proud scholarship recipient of the L.A.C.E project. – Aeriana Holifield
